Shay Williams

-

International Ambassador

Founder/CEO Accent on Seniors

Shay Williams was born in Coldwater, Michigan, in 1947. At age twelve, her family relocated to Sarasota, Florida, where her entrepreneurial journey began—babysitting in her neighborhood. After graduating high school, Shay worked in the inventory control department at Montgomery Ward, a national retailer at the time.

Pursuing her passion for faith and service, she earned a Bachelor's degree in Christian Education from Toccoa Falls College. During her college years, she spent two summers in East Hampton, New York, working as a nanny. In 1973, she made San Clemente, California, her permanent home after marrying David Williams. Together, they raised one son and two daughters, and over the years, operated several successful businesses as a team. Sadly, David passed away in 2012.

In 1994, Shay founded Accent On Seniors, a board and care home for the elderly. With a heart for helping families care for their aging loved ones, Shay has faithfully led this mission-driven business for over 30 years. Through her compassionate leadership, Accent On Seniors remains a vital service in the community, offering dignity and care to seniors as they transition through life’s later chapters.

In recognition of her lifelong commitment to elder care and community service, Shay received the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award in 2024—a testament to her impact, integrity, and unwavering dedication.

Shay’s Christian values are at the center of her life. She has long been active in community service, holding several terms as president of Soroptimist International and serving in the Women’s Guild at her local hospital. She has also been a proud member of Kiwanis and is a presidential-level supporter of Casa Romantica, San Clemente’s cultural arts center.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Shay enjoys church, fellowship, sailing, family, friends, and international travel.

In 2024, love came knocking again. During an overseas excursion, Shay met Vietnam veteran Phillip Saflar. With charm and determination—refined through years of tactical training—Phillip “got the girl.” The two were married in 2025 in a beautiful ceremony off the coast of St. Barths in the British Virgin Islands.

Shay Williams is a blessing wherever she goes and in whatever she does. Her compassion, faith, and dedication to others have touched countless lives. For these reasons and more, we are proud to name her our one and only International Ambassador.
