NAVY - PERSIAN GULF

About Chris

Chris Cerney served in the US Navy for six years. He was sent to the Persian Gulf and was exposed to many chemicals that likely caused his illness today. During his time there, he was exposed to oil field fires and one of the ships he was on happened to be leaking radiation. He took pills and received shots given for chemical warfare, though he thinks these might have even contributed to his illness as well. His decorations include National Defense Service Medal, 1st Good Conduct Medal (for the period ending March 31, 1993), Navy Unit Commendation, Navy Achievement Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (3rd), Southwest Asia Service Medal (W/3 Bronze Stars), and Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal.
